Doris E. Cosner

Doris E. Cosner 84, of Satsuma, Florida passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Putnam Community Medical Center in Palatka, Florida. Doris was born on Thursday, July 7, 1927 in Colmar, Pennsylvania to the late Martin G. And Anna (Schwartz) Steinetz. She wrote a column for the Palatka Daily News. Condolences may be sent to the family by signing Doris’ online page at Mrs. Cosner is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Jack Cosner of Satsuma, Florida; daughter, Connie Nance of Interlachen, Florida; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; great great granddaughter; Many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. A Memorial Service will be 11 AM, Friday, October 21, 2011 at the Hope Lutheran Church on County Road 309 in Satsuma, Florida. A gathering of Family and Friends will be at 1 PM following the service at the Crescent City Woman’s Club 604 South Summit Street in Crescent City, Florida. In lieu of flowers please make contributions in Doris’ name to Haven Hospice, 6400 St. Johns Ave. Palatka, Florida 32177. Simplicity Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc., San Mateo, Florida.

    I will remember Doris fondly and miss her greatly. She had that kind of personality that immediately made you feel at ease and comfortable. She also had a great sense of humor and open mind. I was in awe and great respect of her. We, will miss her greatly in the women’s clubs.

    Also, I never missed her columns. She was a talented writer. They don’t make many like her!
