George D. Redding, Sr. 85, of Georgetown, Florida passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka, Florida. George was born on Thursday, October 29, 1925 in Eau Gallie, Florida to the late George W. And Eunice C. (Stokes) Redding. He is also preceded in death by his loving wife Georgia Redding, son, Todd Redding, brother, Dick Redding and sister Floydean Redding. Mr Redding faithfully served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. During his service he received the following medals: World II Victory, Asiatic Pacific Campaign, USMC Rifle (marksman badge), Insignias Star and many others. He was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, shrimping, and gardening. Mr. Redding is survived by his wife June Redding of Georgetown, Florida; sons: George D. Redding, Jr. And wife Margaret of Belleview, Nebraska; John D. Redding and wife Treva of Melbourne, Florida and Robert Bramlitt of Lake Como, Florida; daughters: CeCe Simpson and husband Dennis of Palm Coast, Florida, Ina Slater and Barbara Hamel both of Jacksonville, Florida; brothers: Frank Redding and wife Debbie of Geneva, Florida, Edmond Redding of Orlando, Florida, Douglas Redding and wife Sharon of Newville, Alabama and Donald Redding of Palm Bay, Florida; sisters: Joyce Faircloth of Geneva, Florida and, Yvonne Boykin of Orlando, Florida; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; Many other releatives and friends who will miss him dearly. A Tribute to Life service will be 11 AM, Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Beulah Baptist Church in Fruitland, Florida with Pastor Robby Paxton and Rev. Dennis Simpson, officiating. Military honors will be bestowed by the U.S. Marine Corps. Simplicity Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Inc., San Mateo, Florida.
